Bridge to School English (Intensive EAL)

Who it’s for

Newly arrived or EAL learners who want fast, practical language support to integrate quickly into local schools and keep up with classwork.

What students will do

  • Read with the teacher: Guided close reading of novels, short stories, news articles and information texts; build comprehension, inference and note-taking skills.

  • Crack the vocab: High-impact strategies (word families, prefixes/suffixes, collocations) + spaced review to retain new words.

  • Fix the grammar: Tenses, subject–verb agreement, sentence structure, punctuation—clear rules with targeted practice.

  • Write with confidence: From strong sentences → coherent paragraphs → short responses(narrative, informative, persuasive).

  • Speak & listen for school: Class discussion language, asking/answering questions, short presentations.
