Award winning, best-selling children’s author Jacqueline Harvey loves working with students just like you to help bring those great ideas to life. She will be conducting a ‘hands on’ writing workshop where students will get to discuss their ideas, do lots of writing and share their work with others. The workshop will focus on a range of activities, designed to assist young writers to develop their skills and gain an in-depth understanding of the writing process. 

The workshop morning session will focus on:
·        Character development
·        Writing dialogue
·        World building and settings
·        Writing descriptively

The workshop afternoon session will focus on:
·        Plotting and planning stories
·        Causing trouble for your characters
·        Using characters created that morning (or creating new characters) begin to develop a story
·        Writing descriptively
