The ICQ is a unique chemistry education initiative that offers students in Years 7–12 a dynamic and focused exploration of the subject. It aims to spark interest in chemistry and highlight the essential role of chemists in society. Designed to go beyond standard syllabus content, the ICQ is engaging and thought-provoking, featuring questions that require students to apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios. It is a truly international competition, attracting participants from Australia and around the world.
This course is specifically designed to guide year 7 and 8 students in mastering the ICQ, Over the span of the week students will consolidate their knowledge from key topics such as; mixtures and solutions, states of matter and particle motion, differences between elements, compounds, and mixtures, and chemical change. Alongside this, they will practice a wide range of questions, addressing recurring topics and question styles from previous years, preparing them for the ICQ.
