Year 5 and 6 Students – Combining History and Mystery to Create Fabulous Tales
Over three sessions students will explore a variety of aspects of creative writing with the goal to develop a masterful short piece of mystery writing combining elements of historical fiction.
We will look at the following:
· Finding great ideas
· Research – how to include historical aspects in your stories
· World building
· Creating great characters
· Critical elements of mystery stories
· Plotting and planning
· Effective and Believable Dialogue
· Literary Devices
· The importance of Rewriting and Editing
In the course Jacqueline will use historical and mystery text excerpts to identify excellence in the genre and the methods that published authors employ to create their works.
