In this course, students will enhance their creative writing skills through text analysis of exemplar texts from established writers and in-class writing activities.
Set B teaches the creative writing skills in a different way, using different examples. This is a different course from the one offered in the autumn holidays (Set A).
Each day will focus on a different aspect of creative writing.
Day 1: Imagery and setting
Day 2: Narrative perspective and narrative voice
Day 3: Narrative structure
Day 4: Enhancing engagement through sentence variation; responding to prompts and stimulus
Day 5: Enhancing engagement through purposeful dialogue; revising and editing
Students will complete several short in-class writing activities. There is also a longer task every day, except for Day 5, that is marked and returned the next day.
