Essay writing is a defining skill for a student’s high school humanities education. Across a range of subjects, students are expected to express their understanding in the form of a sustained and organised argument, which unifies evidence and analysis. This course is an advanced essay-writing course to help students refine their argument structure. Students will learn how to differentiate between explanation and analysis, incorporate evidence and analysis in their essays, and use appropriate language, including subject-specific vocabulary.
Students who completed the essay writing course in summer (Set B) can also enrol in this course. Set A teaches the skills in a different way and uses different examples.
