This course is designed to prepare Y6 students for scholarship tests offered by private and independent schools.
Students will learn reading strategies for a range of genres and text types. This will include non-fiction such as feature articles and science reports, literature such as narratives and poems, as well as visual texts. The analysis of reading texts will provide a platform for learning and practising writing skills. Activities focus on higher-order thinking skills. Students will complete an in-class writing task on days 1-4, and there will be a reading mock test on day 5.
