This skills-based course is designed to help students prepare for the short-answer section of Paper 1 of the HSC English exam. It covers the structure and style of the questions, and strategies for responding to them under exam conditions, as well as developing students' abilities in analysing and responding to key text types used in Paper 1. Each lesson introduces the text type and provides original texts, questions and exemplary responses.
Students will spend part of the lesson completing some short-answer questions which will be marked and returned the next day. Students will also analyse exemplary responses in order to improve their own writing.
