In this course, students will enhance their creative writing skills through text analysis of exemplar texts from established writers and in-class writing activities. Each day will focus on a different aspect of creative writing.
Day 1: Methods of planning, literary techniques and the narrative arc
Day 2: Genre and setting; the balance between realism and imagination
Day 3: Characterisation and descriptive writing
Day 4: Mastering dialogue
Day 5: Skills and techniques from flash fiction
