Preliminary Extension 1 Maths

HSC Preliminary Extension 1 Mathematics

This term, students will be beginning the Preliminary HSC Extension 1 course. This course will cover all Preliminary Advanced Mathematics topics as well as the Extension 1 Topics. Students will be completing a written mini test in weeks 3 and 6. These mini tests will be marked with written feedback given to students in week 4 and 7 respectively. There is also an examination of the topics covered this term in week 9 with written feedback returned to students in week 10.

Week 3: Mini Test & Functions and Parabolas

Week 4: Polynomials and Graphs

Week 5: Graphing Techniques

Week 6: Mini Test & Coordinate Geometry

Week 7: Introduction to Calculus

Week 8: Differentiation Techniques

Week 9: Exam & Combinatorics

Week 10 Exam Review & The binomial expansion and Pascal’s Triangle
